Prelimenary Note: SegoviaMan.com has been a planned project for years and now, with my free time, I hope to make it into the premier first-person, REAL-PERSON travel guide on the internet for Segovia.
Segovia, the capital of the province of the same name and member of the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León, is a top daytrip destination from Madrid. Segovia makes a profound impact upon the first-time and many-time visitor. Its monstrous Roman Aqueduct - one of the best preserved in all the world - is an awe-inspiring sight when approaching the old part of the city. Many narrow, winding streets, pedestrian and otherwise, wind the visitor through old Segovia, taking them to the Plaza Mayor and the great Cathedral, all the way to the postcard-perfect Alcázar.
And if you're interested in eating, SEGOVIA is a food-lovers paradise! Many Madrileños go to Segovia on the weekends simply for the food, MAINLY the cochinillo (roasted suckling pig) and cordero (lamb). Meaty, hearty meals are served here and the red wine is tasty and strong. After a typical lunch in Segovia you'll want to do nothing more than find a tree and take a long siesta. But there are sites to see so let's get to it!
At SegoviaMan.com you'll find plenty of Segovia information if you're planning a daytrip from Madrid or if you're spending several nights. Segovia, by day, has its share of daytripping tourists. By night, however, it's like a sleepy little village.
